This suburb is away from the hustle and bustle – but still surrounded by the best of the Gold Coast. Carrara is just a 10-minute drive from Surfers Paradise, Southport, Broadbeach and of course, the glorious beaches along the coast. The Gold Coast Cycling Centre located by the river Nerand has a velodrome, a clubhouse, and an off-road circuit – so it’s one of the best locations for leisure. There are also the Paul Meadows International Baseball Facility and Nerang PCYC – the latter one a great sports facility where locals can train everything from boxing, basketball, and pilates to taekwondo.

Carrara also boasts a lot of good public schools, like the Nerang State School, Nerang High School, and the Merrimac Primary and High School.
There are also plenty of private schools – Emmanuel College, St Brigid’s Primary School, and the All Saints Anglican School, so youngsters have plenty of choices when it comes to education.
