Clear Island Waters is one of the waterfront suburbs under the Gold Coast City local government located at its very center. This prestigious residential suburb lies nestled between Robina to the South, Carrara to the West, and Mermaid Waters to the East, while Broadbeach Waters adjoins it to the North. Only 11.7 kilometres away from Burleigh Heads, the area is a rare refuge for various plant and animal species amid a largely urbanized Gold Coast landscape.

Clear Island Waters provides peaceful ambience and has well-accessible schools and other amenities in its vicinity, making it a perfect destination for families who like to live at the waterfront. It abounds in quiet cul-de-sacs with scenic waterfront properties with remarkable views – many of which sell at over a million dollars.

The suburb received its name in 1989, after a rural road called Clear Island Road of which only one small part remains today. The accessibility of golf facilities gives even greater impetus to the prominence of the suburb. Clear Island Waters is home to the Surfers Paradise Golf Club and has the Merrimac Golf Course in its vicinity.

Clear Island Waters encompasses three residential parts: The Capes in the south-eastern part of the suburb features more affordable, plainly designed homes located very conveniently near the main roads; The Moorings, in its south-west stretch, include some of the suburb’s non-waterfront, dry land parcels; while Island Quays, which adjoins the Surfers Paradise Golf Club in the North is an area of larger waterfront properties and the Clear Island Waters shopping facility. This area was formerly developed as high-end accommodation facilities for the golf club, established in 1968 and retains its distinguished look even today.

Several bridges stretch over the waterways and link the different parts of the suburb. Large, secured gated estates, including Rhode Island Resort, Island Quay, Isle of Istana, Santa Cruz and others are also an integral part of the suburb.

The median price for houses in Clear Island Waters has grown steadily in recent years and currently exceeds one million. The handsome properties surrounding the Clear Island Lake and Boobegan Creek artificial canals will likely remain in higher demand. Thanks to its central location, Robina town centre is only 13 minutes away, while it takes about 10 minutes to reach Surfers Paradise and the beaches. There is a local medical precinct and an elementary school, St Vincent’s Primary School. More options for schooling are available no more than 9 km away in the neighbouring suburbs of Merrimac or Southport for instance.

The Clear Island artificial lake was created in the process of the area’s residential development and now functions as a basin where stormwater gets safely retained. Various native plants thrive in the water, providing a natural habitat for animal species, as well as natural filtration that increases the water quality.
